“La Faldicaja”
An indoor performance aimed at audiences from age 3 and up. What would someone who lives inside a book tell us? A character who emerges from a box, lives on a page, and showers when her umbrella decides to rain inward—certainly has something to say. She is a little sprite called Sujetatítulos, who claims to come from the world of stories, where she is overworked holding together endless letters. She has escaped from a huge box—which turns out to be her skirt. Meanwhile, the goblin Comepatatas is constantly searching for her, as she begins to pull out stories and strange objects from her “Faldicaja.” What a world, the world of stories!
The puppeteer manipulates the puppet, and the puppet, in turn, manipulates the puppeteer. Stories told for the ear blend with figure and object theatre, creating a visual performance where one both learns and unlearns. All of this leads us straight into the story itself, with a refreshing sense of ease and freedom.
