“La queja de Mariteja”
On a whimsical rooftop where a stage is improvised, laundry is washed and hung, drawers are opened, and memories are stored, we meet Mariteja—a character full of tenderness and madness, in whom a thousand different women are reflected.
Mariteja receives various objects, packages, and letters from people in her town, and through them, stories emerge that gradually resolve the plot and transform the scenery.
Everything is upside down, everything is turned on its head. The rooftop becomes a delirious cabaret, the laundry never comes out of the washing machine as it went in, and when a large handkerchief of tears is hung out to dry, surprising images appear on it, interacting with Mariteja.
This performance blends theatre, music, cinematic language, rod puppets, and live hand puppetry. It is a celebration of communication, friendship, and the joy of living.
